Rainbows

We had sort of a cloud burst this evening and then I saw 2 rainbows appear. The 2nd one was not very clear or I must have missed it when both were clear. Anyway seeing rainbows always makes my day. They are so rare in this country.

What I have been doing!

Firstly I would like to thank everyone for your kind comments for my dolls and for being so supportive. Also thank you for the name suggestions. As I have already a doll named Serena I thought I would go with the name Isabella suggested by Sesga. Thank you so much Sesga the name is perfect for my doll.
Have you ever tried unravelling spaghetti? Well that is how this feels like. I have been trying to get this jumble of thread into a ball for a couple of days . The end doesn't seem to be anywhere near lol! It is fairly easy to unravel but the problem is, it is too slippery so not easy to handle. It is some sort of a rayon thread which I thought would be good for doll hair until it got jumbled up.

Finished her

I put the finishing touches to my doll from Sherry's class in Albuquerque. As you can see I gave her a new hair do, so she has turned from a blond to a brunette LOL. I enjoyed this class so much and learnt a lot from it. Sherry is so giving. Thank you for the wonderful class Sherry. Now any names you can think for her? And a little closer look at my chef here he is.

CIFI Picures

Hello all. I got back from my conference on Wednesday. I had a wonderful time. Enjoyed every minute of it even though my journey in was not pleasant. When I landed in Dallas I found that AA had grounded all the planes for safety checks. My connecting flight was cancelled and I had to wade through long ques to get it all rebooked. Anyway to cut a long story short it took me nearly 2 days to reach Albuquerque where it should have taken me 12 hrs to reach it. Meeting up with old friends and making new friends and the wonderful teacheres and classes all more than made up for all my troubles. Since I got back I have been suffering with a very bad stiff neck so I am trying to keep this post short as I am unable to type too much. So here are some pictures I am sharing with you. I will visit all your blogs when I feel better and try and catch up. By the way my doll was one of the dolls amongst the 5 that won the Judges Choice award. Some pictures of dolls made in the class. Mine is in the 4th picture in the middle with the green body. I haven't finished her yet. I shall post a picture of her again once she is completed. Parade of dolls
1st and 2nd place dolls
Jackie Earwood's doll
Sandy Whittley's doll Dolls that won the Judges Choice award.
This is Carol Berzin's doll that won the Peoples Choice award too. It was an awesome doll! The Chef was mine This is Connie's doll This one is Diane Little's doll.
Please I don't have the name for the dollmaker of the 1st doll. If anyone knows it please can you give it to me. I also don't have all the names for the 1st and 2nd place dolls I would like to have those too.

Crazy Weather!

Just when I was thinking that spring was well and truely here, this is what I woke up to this morning. It is all gone now and the sun is shining brightly. But is very chilly!

Icicle doll inspiration

I had this doll body stitched up and sitting in my sewing box for ages. It is only a tiny little thing which I meant to make up sometime ago. But somehow I never got round to making it up. Whenever I opened my sewing box I would see it and think I must make it up. But as time passed by I almost stopped seeing it in my box. Until I looked at Linda's icicle doll. Then bingo my brain sort of woke up to the fact that there was a similar looking body lying in my sewing box. So I got it out and here she is a little pin doll, done up very quickly. Thank you Linda for inspiring me to do something about this little doll.

Preparing

I have not been doing much by way of creating things lately. I have generally been busy preparing for my forth coming trip to States next week. Some time ago I had designed my Silk Fairy (her picture is in my blog banner) which had very slender fingers and I thought I would never torture myself again doing such slender fingers but I was challenged again to do slender fingers for Sherry's class doll so here they are. I did surprisingly well without any blowouts. Only one finger got a teeny weeny hole because I pushed it too hard lol! Not bad is it?. Those hands are as slim as a pencil. In the picture one cannot really get an idea of the size.
