On the streets

Yesterday as I was driving down into London in the morning around 9 O'clock I was struck by the fact that there was hardly any traffic on some of the busiest streets of London at peak hours. I completed my journey in an hour which is very good. I can only put it down to fact that either it is because of the recession or the holiday season or because it was such a beautiful day that everyone decided to go away instead of driving into London.

  2. Lucky you! Usually the streets are immensely crowded - at least they have been all the times that my husband or myself have been there.

  3. I've read about London all my life - imagine just driving down the streets like that! Of course you live there so it's just London to you, but to me it's always been the place where my favorite stories happened. Some day it will be my pleasure to see it with my own eyes.

  5. I'm delighted every spring when the snowbirds and tourists go home- traffic and the shops thin out, and we can get into a restaurant with out an hour's wait for a table.

  6. Lovely photos and that is very strange that you hardly had any traffic. Oh well, at least you did what you had to do faster than ever before! :)
